CORE CONNECTION VIDEO SERIES
An online video series to sculpt a new shape for your tummy. To trim, tone and tune your central powerhouse for effective total body movement. By training neutral spine, you’ll be aligning your energy centres and creating a greater holistic connection to breath, vitality and day to day flow.
WHAT IS IT?
5 Videos that each focus on the layers of the core utilising positions and such as planks, table tops, side lying, dynamic core (yoga), and standing lunges for balance through the central core. Each session will be carefully choreographed as such to deeply target one area or aspect. There will be other toning benefits such as legs and shoulder stability. There will also be a cardio session on day 5.
HOW DOES IT WORK?
I will coach breath techniques, alignment principles and how the correct use of breath and alignment can dramatically enhance the effectiveness of each exercise. I will talk about the layers of the core and how we can engage one set of abdominal and pelvic muscles in order to access deeper layers of the core and thereby sculpt and tone in a truly dynamic way.
HOW DO YOU PRACTICE?
You will select 5 days out of your week to do this 15 minute work-out. It is important that you don’t have too much food in the gut as this will be uncomfortable and inhibit your ability to practice correctly. Usually 1.5-2 hours after food is fine depending on how heavy or light the meal is. It is a really good idea to take photos before and after. Recommended is 6 weeks to really see the big changes. From there you can choose to do the videos 2-3 times a week to maintain your new sculpted core.
VIDEO ONE | BREATH, PELVIC FLOOR AND NEUTRAL SPINE
On the mat, in semi-supine, practicing neutral spine and learning breath technique. We’ll move into table-top, Pilates inspired exercises then into crunches. We’ll then sit up and perform C -Curves, roll downs and roll like a ball.
VIDEO TWO | YOGIC BREATH, RESISTING GRAVITY, SUPPORTING SPINE IN PLANK
Starting kneeling we practice yogic breath then same on all fours. We learn how to draw in breath and use the ‘bundas’ Abdominal work through breath. Then we move into stabilising on all fours then into planks. Most of these can be performed on elbows or hands for those with wrist or shoulder injuries.
VIDEO THREE | CRUNCH DAY + OBLIQUES
Having learn’t how to connect our breath, align and stabilise we move into the toughest day of crunches including single and double leg stretches. We also move onto our side and perform an oblique series
VIDEO FOUR | STANDING CORE + LUNGES
We move to standing to learn how to use our core for balance and stability and then perform dynamic movements to put our learning to action!
VIDEO FIVE | CARDIO CORE
Today is a combo class that accelerates the heart rate includes mountain climbers, dynamic core, standing lunges, floor barre and recline leg exercises that require a neutral spine and stabilisation.
